Raphael Brüngel currently works on his collaborative doctoral project at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Duisburg-Essen as well as the Department of Computer Science of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund. His work focuses on improvement of image-based machine learning methods for cutaneous lesion analysis via utilization of synthetic data. Medical image analysis, deep learning, and generative adversarial networks are part of his research interests. Prior to these, he engaged security aspects of mobile health applications and decision support for nanomaterial identification.
